Trisco

Biography

1994 -- onwards

Trisco has been involved in the House scene from the mid nineties as a record producer and DJ. Initially signed to Whoop Records in 1994 under the name ‘Spanish Fly’, he released two tracks “Sustain” and “Hipster” which both had immediate impact on the progressive house scene.

Together with a residency at Rude, SW1 club (now Pacha, London) Trisco began to develop an upfront funky-tech prog-house style sound with a familiar no-nonsense approach to giving the clubbers what they want. This sound also found it’s way into other residencies at the Ministry of Sound and a two-year residency at his own club night Wonderland Avenue at Plastic People in Oxford Street, London.

Making sweet Musak

In 2000, Trisco released Musak on Vinyl Addiction Records, which began to be touted as as the biggest underground track of the year. Described as “ground breaking” in the music press, Musak became commonplace in DJ’s boxes across the board: from Sasha and Digweed to the Chemical Brothers, Seb Fontaine and Pete Tong. The track had a massive amount of airplay and soon became Pete Tongs Essential new tune (05/05/01).

By then the track had been picked up by Positiva and reached # 27 in the UK Top 40 Chart and had truly become one of the great cross over records and a remix by Steve Lawler added the cherry on the cake for the discerning night owl.

With an impressive list of remixes under his belt; from Kylie to the Chemical brothers, it wasn’t until September 2003 that Trsco released his second single “Ultra” which was huge amongst the big DJ names so much so that it was used on the Radio 1 Summer TV ‘Ad campaign with Seb Fontaine behind the decks.

Since then Trisco has been busy in the studio recently making two more tracks (both double A sides) Lean of Hip/Time released - 14/07/03 and under the alias Wonderland Avenue “Journeyman/Primo Deluxo” released – 08/07/03 on (after a long time out) Whoop! Records.

The future

All looks good for the future with more studio action, having finished the next single “All About You”, promo’s of which are set to catch the last few rays in September on the Terrace in Ibiza this summer (watch out for it’s…BIG).

Work also continues on the forthcoming album, together with a one or two remixes on the Horizon!
